I was concerned the entire time that you weren’t going to make the comparison to From Beyond and The Music of Erich Zann. That aside, this feels very Lovecraftian in nature, as it lacks some of the humor that you find in Smith’s other stories. It also seems very grounded the way that Lovecraft does where for example Lovecraft has this side stories in the news papers like in Call of Cthulhu or with the kidnapping of the infant in The Dreams in the Which House but Smith has this murder story. I also find it odd that Smith name drops Byorn and Poe but specifically not Lovecraft. I wonder if he had From Beyond in particular on his mind when writing this and didn’t want people to think he was just copying him. I wonder if there is any connection between Smith’s use of statues and in this story and in the Hunters from Beyond has any connection to Smith reading The Mask by Robert Chambers in the King in Yellow. Just some thoughts…

I listened to the new ep late last night and dug it the most! Well done, I say! This ep had me cracking up…A WHOLE LOTTA! The editing was top-level and the banter and discussion was out-of-this-whirl! What a way to kick of ’14!
